Board Meeting Procedures (pdf format)

  • The CSMH Board of directors has approved a set of Board Meeting Procedures which basically explain how meetings are run and the process to follow for addressing the board. An good reference if you plan to attend a board meeting.

Responsibilities of Board Members:

  • Assist in fundraising and develop corporate support
  • Review development of budget and provide fiscal oversight
  • Review curriculum and instruction plan
  • Hire & evaluate principal & director
  • Promote and publicize the school in the community, with parents and businesses
  • Oversee operations such as location, insurance, policies
  • Develop school policies consistent with the charter development
  • Determine meeting schedule
  • Establish policies and procedures for the Charter School Board

Board Composition includes representation from the following groups:

  • Teachers
  • Business leaders (Rotary, Chamber, Kiwanas...)
  • Parents
  • Community organizations that serve youth and families (MACSA, YMCA, Community Solutions, ...)
  • Local government representatives
  • Community members at large

Board Member Bios

We are fortunate to have members with a wide range of expertise and experience on the Board.

Paige Cisewski as the Principal, Paige holds the Administrative representative position. Paige begins her first year as Principal at CSMH. She was previously a principal in Los Gatos. Paige worked actively on the school’s launch team prior to the school’s opening and served as a parent rep on the Board during the school’s first two years. Dave Cross – Dave is beginning his first of two years as the staff representative. Dave is in his third year at CSMH and he teaches 7th/8th grade social studies and a math section. Dave has served on many staff committees, has a special interest in technology, and he holds the office of Board Secretary. return

Linda Ullah – Linda returns for her second year on the Board as a community representative and her second year as Board President. Linda brings a wealth of experience in education (35 years) including serving 8 years on MHUSD’s Board of Trustees. She is currently a Teacher in Residence at the Krause Center for Innovation and Technology at Foothill College. return

Cinda Meister – Cinda, owner of downtown’s Booksmart, Thinker Toys and The Love Bug, returns as a committed and valuable community representative for her 4th year on the Board! return

Tracy Newquist – Tracy begins her first year as a community representative. Tracy is the Business Manager of the family-owned Newquist & Newquist Private Wealth Management corporation. return

Bruce Taylor – Bruce is serving his first year as a parent representative. Bruce is the father of a third grader at CSMH and he is the owner and Principal Consultant for Taylor Systems Consulting. Bruce and his wife MJ have put in countless hours developing and improving the school’s database and working on the school’s Technology Committee. return

Dana Miller – Dana is in her second year on the Board as a parent representative and is the Vice President. She has a fourth grader and a Kindergartener at CSMH. Prior to the school’s opening, Dana was the co-director of the school’s launch team and served on the Launch Board of Directors. return

Board members must:

  • Serve a two-year term.
  • Volunteer their service

Leadership Task Force
The Board of Directors has commissioned a task force to examine administrative leadership models at other schools and analyze what would be best for CSMH based on our mission & budget. This new group called the Leadership Task Force includes staff and parents. They will report their findings to the board in January. Click here to view their meeting minutes.
